Dawn Ainsworth is an award winning outdoor photographer who grew up in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.   This area encompasses roughly two thousand square miles and is made up of about eighty percent forest, with a scattering of small towns in between.  Her family spent most of their free time outdoors swimming, gardening, relaxing, or taking a ride on their motorcycles.  Her childhood was filled with long days enjoyed in the open air, high in a tree or simply soaking up the sun with a book.  In high school she became a enthusiast of all things relating to taking or appreciating pictures.  She has become an avid outdoors woman who spends every season outside; camping, hiking, snowshoeing, and of course taking photographs.  To mix her love of nature, with her wish to record the beauty she observed in the natural world, she decided to pursue professional photography.

Dawn received her diploma from the New York Institute of Photography.  In March of 2006 Dawn and her husband Dylan opened their outdoor photography and videography business, Nostalgic Images.  Currently she sells her photos as fine art prints, and greeting cards in retail locations around Vermont, and on her website.  Even growing up in the ever changing digital era, and with her vast knowledge of computers, her favorite medium is still 35mm color negative.  Currently she uses Canon film and digital SLR cameras with a variety of lenses.  By sharing her photographs with others, she hopes to instill a respect and admiration for the beautiful world we inhabit.  She still resides in the NEK with her husband and two young daughters.  Nostalgic Images is now on Facebook at http://artist.to/nostalgicimages.
