Julie Acker is a fifth-generation Vermonter, born and raised in southern Vermont.  She attended Castleton State College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Science majoring in Biology with a Chemistry minor.  Her love of the Vermont outdoors was instilled in her by by her Grammir, who was an avid outdoorswoman and often took her grandchildren hunting and fishing.  She currently lives in Thetford with her

husband and two children.
