Mud Season Hiking
Mud season has arrived in Vermont. It’s a great time to get outside, but please keep in mind that many trails are not suitable for hiking during this time of year. Some higher elevation trails are still wet and muddy and when hikers walk on saturated soils, it can result in damage to the trail and surrounding vegetation. Hikes in hardwood forests at lower elevations are recommended. For more information on suggested places to hike this spring, click here.

don't move firewood Only firewood from Vermont is permitted in our state parks
Please help prevent invasive species from damaging Vermont's forests by not transporting firewood. Wood can be brought from within Vermont, or you can purchase wood in the campgrounds.

Learn more about what you can do to prevent invasive species.
