You and all visitors to our web site are very important to us and we respect your needs for privacy. During your visit, we will not capture any personal information about you without your permission or without explicitly informing you of the specific information we are capturing. Such information is limited to specific applications such as on-line surveys and certain data entry screens.

Public access to information

Date and time the visit occurred
Client IP - This is the unique Internet Protocol (IP) address of the web site visitor. The address is assigned by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to which the visitor is subscribed and under most circumstances cannot be traced to a specific machine. (Technical note: Nearly all internet service providers use systems - DHCP and BIND - that randomly assign a different IP address each time a user logs onto their networks. This makes it nearly impossible to trace a connection to an individual machine.)
Server IP - This is the Internet Protocol address of the State of Vermont server accessed
HTTP status - This is the hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) error code our systems analysts can use in troubleshooting system problems.
HTTP Request URL - This identifies the page requested by the visitor.
Bytes sent - This is the amount of data sent from the web server to the visitor.
Bytes received - This is the amount of data received from the visitor.
User Agent - This is the type of web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.) used by the visitor. This is used primarily for troubleshooting system problems.
Protocol Version - This is the version of HTTP used by the visitor's web browser software.

We use this information to better understand how our system is being used, which information is most requested, and where problems - such as lost files and slow performance - might exist. None of the information can be personally identified and we do not attempt to link service providers, personal machines and users.

Some pages may display usage counts and this aggregate information may be shared with others.

E-mail messages sent from or to any ANR address will be treated the same as any other written correspondence. Messages are typically saved for some time and then erased from storage.

Information voluntarily entered into on-line forms will be treated the same as information provided on a written form and will be governed by the same relevant statutes.
